Map the current process
Identify the systems, spreadsheets, shared drives and manual hand-offs that currently run the business.
A move from spreadsheets or an established platform should be planned around clean source data, active work, file storage and the people who use the process every day. JobCue favours a staged migration over a risky big-bang promise.
Identify the systems, spreadsheets, shared drives and manual hand-offs that currently run the business.
Set up the organisation, Users, modules, templates, rate cards, workflow defaults and storage provider.
Clean and agree the records that are actually worth moving instead of importing years of duplication and dead data.
Test representative Clients, Jobs, Projects, commercial data and files with the people who will use them.
Move the team across, keep the old system read-only where sensible and close remaining migration gaps in a controlled way.
The exact import route depends on the source system and data quality. JobCue should not promise a one-click migration from every competitor, but common business data can be assessed and staged sensibly.
JobCue includes 5GB of managed storage in the core package. If your organisation already pays for Microsoft 365 or Dropbox, you can keep that existing storage relationship where configured and avoid paying JobCue to duplicate the same file capacity.
Start with the managed storage included in your subscription and add JobCue capacity only if you actually need it.
Where configured, use your existing Microsoft storage environment — including SharePoint/OneDrive where supported — as the persistent file home while JobCue keeps workflow references and metadata.
Where configured, keep persistent payloads in the Dropbox environment your organisation already owns rather than copying them into JobCue-managed storage as well.
The goal is not an impressive import script. The goal is that your team opens JobCue on go-live day and can confidently find the clients, active work, files and commercial information they need.
During migration, identify where staff re-enter the same status simply to keep a second tracker current. Recreate the underlying operational event in JobCue first, then add a plain-English rule that updates the related task or programme item. Start with a small number of high-confidence rules and keep manual overrides available.
Current RMS, Rentman, Team-Trak, monday.com, Teamwork.com, Scoro and Productive each solve a different centre of gravity. The best migration starts by deciding which workflows JobCue should replace — and which specialist tools should remain.
Compare JobCueDo not reproduce every old workaround just because it existed. Preserve the business requirement, then configure the cleaner JobCue workflow around it.
